What To Expect
The steps to “Losing the Glasses”
1. Contact us for your Complimentary Screening.
2. At your screening, learn the details, ask questions, and find out if you are a candidate for laser vision correction. Your screening with our Refractive Coordinator will take approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour. We enjoy taking the time to talk with you and answer your questions during this personal screening.
3. Schedule your comprehensive examination with Dr. Birchansky. This very thorough examination takes approximately 2 1/2 hours. There will be a series of tests performed on your eyes to evaluate your vision. Your eyes will be dilated. Dr. Birchansky will discuss with you the options for surgery to achieve your ideal vision.
Contact lenses can affect the shape of your eyes. It is important to have your eyes in their natural state before this appointment. Soft contact lenses should be out for 2 weeks prior to your exam, toric contact lenses for 3 weeks prior to your exam, and gas permeable/hard contact lenses for 4 week prior to your exam.
Some of our patients travel quite a distance to Fox Eye. For their convenience, we may be able to schedule both the screening and examination for the same day. Please ask if this applies to your situation.
4. On treatment day, Dr. Birchansky will provide you with the most advanced treatment options and technology available for your surgery to help you “Lose the Glasses”.
