• Monovision

Monovision is a technique to help deal with presbyopia. After age 40 everybody develops presbyopia. Presbyopia causes you to require reading glasses or bifocals for near work. Monovision is commonly dealt with by using contact lenses. One eye is corrected for distance and the other eye is corrected for near. The advantage to presbyopic patients is that they do not need to wear glasses for distance or near activities. The disadvantage is that some depth perception is compromised. It is best to try monovision first with contact lenses before choosing monovision with laser vision correction.

If you try monovision with laser vision correction and don’t care for it then additional surgery to the near seeing eye can be done allowing you to see clearly in the distance with both eyes.
